what's wrong with me?

Ok, story goes that whilst away from home, I we ate well (in terms of quantity) and I had absolutely no problems whatsoever with my appetite or lackthereof. The first night I got home, my parents took me to a restaurant and I was completely nauseous by the smell of food but put that down to my having just got off a plane. Then the next day, I didn't want any sort of food at all. I knew I was hungry but I just ignored it and didn't have lunch. Now, I just don't want food until I actually eat it and then I find it tolerable. I think I'm snapping out of it gradually.

To the questions.
My parents call me Mrs Grape (as in Gilbert Grape's mother) but they also call me shitface and a whole array of other terms of endearment. Both my parents know that I'm not fat but I come from a family where my mother was able to keep a body weight of 45kgs (that's roughly 90-95 pounds) until she was 45 yo!

My friends and I almost never talk of 'boys'. We don't talk about anything that 'normal' people my age would such as 'boys, clothes, shoes, music, movies, etc.' Instead, we talk about food, our bad habits, each others' bad habits and we constantly bitch between ourselves (with no malicious intent). We're probably the antithesis of teenyboppers.

surely you missed a 1 somewhere in that 90-95 pound thingy. i dunno, call me crazy, but if i saw anyone over the age of 8 that weighed around 90-95 pounds, i'd freak out.

What you said doesn't sound like the anti-thesis of teenie-boppers at all. Not to me at least. It sounds like exactly the same things I heard everyone talk about that I used to sit in on. *I was a surfer-as in i could surf to any group or crowd and fit in, but wasn't a regular member*
BUT - before I get horribly off topic, I have heard of what your experiancing, or at least similar cases before. Why it occurs I do not know, however I know the people whom I witness gradually slipped out of it. For some it was mearly a few days, but I had seen and heard of girls who would eat very small meals, just once, or maybe twice a day for a week, 2 weeks, sometimes 3 weeks... relating the same symptoms you've just described. I bet the problem will sort itself out.

I've heard of "culture shock" that can be associated with leaving one environment for another.

If you are going to school one place, vacationing with friends elsewhere the next, than flying home...you could be experiencing a form of culture shock.

Perhaps the most important thing in all of this is that you noticed a change in yourself, and you noticed it quickly.

Kudos are in order for that. That rest is still to be sorted out in time.

Oh the hardship of being called a teenybopper! I am so against them that I find it quite ludicrous to be seen as one. I'm sure you wouldn't think me and mine teenyboppers if you met us.

Alex: being called shitface has the same merits of being called darling in my family. We use those words interchangably. It's just my family's idiosynchrasy. No one's upset by it.

Shat: I'm 18 but I can't figure why that would be an issue.
